What is the difference between a Holiday Programme and an Artz On Show Holiday Workshop?

Artz On Show Holiday Workshops are more than a traditional holiday programme.

While many holiday programmes focus primarily on supervision and entertainment, our Workshops are purposefully designed to be educational, creative, and confidence-building. Each day includes structured classes that develop a wide range of skills—such as self-confidence, self-esteem, creativity, teamwork, and communication—through the performing arts.

Our Workshops are led by trained facilitators who create a supportive, inspiring environment where children are encouraged to learn, try new things, and grow as individuals, not just stay busy.

How do we Enrol?

Simple! Click above on our 'Enrol Now' button, choose the worskshop theme/dates you wish to attend, choose your preferred location, fill out the form and complete payment. All done!

If you have more than one child you can use the 're-enrol' button to take you through the form process again easily!

If you have 3 or more children you are entitled to a discount. Please contact us to arrange this instead of filling out the forms.

What time does the Workshop run each day?

We are on site from 8:30am each day, with classes beginning promptly at 9:00am.

Monday – Thursday:

Workshops finish at 4:00pm. Parents and caregivers are welcome to arrive from 3:45pm to watch the warm-down session and get a glimpse of what the children have been working on throughout the day.

Friday – Show Day:

Friday runs slightly longer as it includes the final performance. In all regions, the show begins at 4:00pm and runs for approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Can my child be grouped with their friends?

In nearly all cases, yes! Please disclose this on your enrolment form that your child would like to be grouped with a specific child and we will do our best within our numbers & ratios to accomodate this. AOS reserves the right to change groupings where needed and to decline requests should this be needed.

What are the Age Groups?

Our age groups can fluctuate depending on numbers. We aim to group ages with each other: 5-6Yr Olds, 7-9Yr Olds, 10yrs+.

In our larger locations these are split further to accomodate.

AOS reserves the right to change these at any time in the Workshop preparation and event stage.

How big are the Groups?

Groups are capped at a maximum of 18-20 (age dependant) per age group. This can differ depending on venue and final staffing.

What are the Workshop locations?

Epsom: Raye Freedman Arts Centre

Karaka: Karaka Memorial Hall

Howick: Howick College

North Shore: Takapuna Normal Intermediate School

Hamilton: Southwell School

What does a typical day at Artz On Show look like?

Each day, children rotate through six different disciplines, giving them a varied, engaging, and well-balanced experience.

For example, on Monday the Orange Group (5-year-olds) timetable may include:

Jazz, Drama, Morning Tea, Art, Vocals, Lunch, Hip Hop, Characterisation, and Group Time.

Each discipline runs for 45 minutes, and every class is carefully tailored to suit the age and developmental stage of the group. This ensures children remain engaged, supported, and challenged in a way that is both fun and educational, while still allowing time for breaks, social connection, and reflection throughout the day.

What is the Early Bird Discount?

If you book for the next Workshop before the end of the previous Workshop you are entitled to a 10% discount. This is available until a week after the current Workshop and is automatically applied to enrolment forms.

What payment options are available?

We offer a range of payment options to make enrolment as easy as possible.

Debit and credit card payments are available via our enrolment form, where you may choose to pay either a non-refundable $50 deposit or the full workshop fee.

Direct bank transfers and payment plans can be arranged by request, please contact us to arrange.

For families enrolling on arrival, we also accept credit/debit/payWave payments or exact cash at the workshop.

What happens if we book and later discover we cannot attend?

Artz On Show requires a non-refundable deposit to secure your booking. If you later find that you are unable to attend, any remaining balance may be transferred to another Artz On Show Workshop, provided at least one week’s notice is given before the Workshop begins.

Each deposit may be transferred once only, and transfers can be applied to any other Workshop within the same calendar year.

If notice is not provided before the Workshop begins, or if the Workshop has already started, the deposit will be forfeited.

Do you have a discount for multiple children?

When you enrol 3 children from one family, you are entitled to 10% off your fees. If you enrol 4 children or more from one family, you are entitled to a 20% discount. This discount cannot be used in conjunction with any other special or offer.

Please contact us directly to arrange this enrolment and payment.

What does my child need to bring?

  • Lunch and a drink bottle
Please note that children are unable to leave the venue to visit shops, and kitchen facilities (including hot water) are not always available. Lunches should be ready to eat.
  • Art shirt or old clothing
This will be used during arts and crafts activities to protect clothing.
  • A quiet-time or lunchtime activity
This may include a book, colouring, or a small personal activity to enjoy during downtime.

When is the Show!?

All students participate in a complimentary performance on the final day of the workshop week. This is a fun and celebratory way for children to showcase what they have been learning throughout the week.

All Performances are at 4.00PM

Please note: our Christmas Workshop (Epsom only) does not include a final performance due to the busy nature of the December period.

In addition to the final show, parents and caregivers are warmly invited to join us each day from 3:45pm to view end-of-day celebrations, awards, and sneak peeks of the work and performance material the children have been developing.
