FAQs

Do I need to purchase tickets for the Friday Show?

No, we do not charge for the show, this is an opportunity for friends and families to see what the student has been involved in during the week.

Why are you called a Workshop?

We believe Artz on Show is different to a holiday programme as we provide classes which are educational, focusing on developing a range of skills including confidence and self esteem.

At Artz on Show we expect Learning Behaviour.

Is your Christmas Workshop any different?

Yes, our Christmas is a daily Workshop meaning you are not required to attend the full week. We do not offer a Friday show or photos as this is a very busy time of year and some schools are still open.  You can attend 1 day or the full week.

Our structure & classes for the day are the same as our term time Workshops and only located in Auckland CDB.

What does a typical day look like?

Each day the children rotate through 6 disciplines.

For example : on Monday the Orange (5 year olds) group's timetable may be: jazz, drama, morning tea, art, vocals, lunch, hip hop, characterisation, group time.  Each discipline is 45 minutes long and every class is tailored to the age group that is being taught.

What payment options do you have?

We can take credit card payments (Visa & Mastercard only) or you can make payments directly to our bank account.  We do not have EFTPOS machines available at our Workshops to use.  You can contact the office to make payments over the phone.

What is the cost of the Workshops?

Our Central Auckland & Hamilton Workshop fee is $85.00 per day or $395.00 for a full week/5 days/per child.

Our Franklin, East Auckland & North Auckland Workshop fee is $78.00 per day or $360.00 for a full week/5 days/per child.

If you are booking for 1x day, it is best advised for children to attend on the first day of the Workshop week as they learn routines, meet our tutors & have an established buddy system.   If they arrive later in the week, they would be slightly behind with routines, lines etc.

Is there an early booking discount?

Yes, if you book for the next Workshop before the end of the previous Workshop you are entitled to a 10% discount. Please check our website for the expiry dates.

What if we book early for the Workshop and later discover that we cannot attend?

Artz on Show has a non-refundable deposit. Any balance can be transferred to another Workshop when we have a week's notice. Our policy allows this to happen only once per deposit, however you are able to transfer to any other Workshop in the same year.

One weeks notice for non attendance must be given prior to the Workshop beginning, once the Workshop begins the deposit is lost.

Do you have any specials for more than two children?

When you book in 3 children from one family you are entitled to 10% off your fees, if you book in 4 children or more from one family you are entitled to a 20% discount. This discount cannot be used in conjunction with any other special or offer.

What does my child need to bring?

We require you to send your child along with the following:

  • lunch and drink bottle- they cannot venture out to the shops, nor are there kitchen facilities for things like hot water to make two minute noodles etc.
  • art shirt - for arts and crafts
  • lunchtime and quiet time activity

What time does the Workshop start and finish, each day?

We are on site from 8.30am each day and classes begin at 9.00am.

The workshop finishes at 4pm Monday - Thursday, you can arrive at 3.45pm to watch the warm down and get a glimpse of what your children have been up to during the day.

Friday is show day and will run longer as the show starts at 4pm (in most regions) and will go for 45 min - 1 hour.

The Friday show in Central Auckland (Epsom Girls Grammar) is at 7pm with children being picked up at 4pm and returning for the show.

What activities will my child participate in?

Artz on Show has 5 core disciplines every Workshop, every student will participate in drama, characterisation, jazz, hip hop, and art.

Specialist activities change every Workshop according to the theme, these can be face painting, team building, vocal coaching, nutrition, cartooning, ballroom dancing, tap, cheer-leading, gymnastics and many more.

See the Disciplines Page for further details on activities.

Can I come and see what my child has learnt?

We do not allow parents to sit in on classes as this takes the focus away from the class and the Tutor.

There is an opportunity to see excerpts of the day just before collection at 3.45pm when students get an opportunity to perform and talk about their day.

Is there a Performance?

Yes, there is a complimentary show that all students participate in on the last day of the Workshop week.

Performance times are:

  • Auckland CBD: 7pm
  • East Auckland, Franklin, North Shore and Hamilton: 4pm

Our Christmas Workshop (Epsom only) does not have a show due to the busyness of December.
